We are pleased to announce that our good friend Steve Carton has been selected by the Monmouth Bar Association and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law as a recipient of a 2016 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award. This award is presented in cooperation with bar associations across the state, to lawyers who are respected by colleagues for their character, competence and exemplary professional behavior.
Attorneys from 20 NJ county bars will be honored at an awards ceremony on November 3rd recognizing one attorney from each county. Additionally, NJ-based specialty bar associations will award a selected member from their organization for a total of 32 Professionalism Awards. The Professionalism Awards, first presented in 1997, are awarded annually by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism. This year, awards will be presented personally by the Chief Justice of the Federal District of NJ, Honorable Jerome B. Simandle, who also serves as Chair of the Commission. The event’s keynote speaker this year will be Honorable John W. Bissell [ret.], former Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
