Douglas J. Widman

Douglas Widman is a partner at Davison, Eastman, Muñoz, Paone, P.A., focusing on estate planning and administration, employment law, business transactions and mediation and arbitration. He presently serves as an Arbitrator and Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediator for the N.J. Superior Court and the N.J. Federal District Court; he is also Collaborative Law Mediator. Over the course his career, Doug has successfully mediated hundreds of cases and is listed as a “mentor” to prospective Superior Court mediators.

Doug joined DEMP in January 2018 from Widman, Cooney, Wilson, McGann & Fitterer where he was Managing Partner. There, he litigated professional and fiduciary liability issues, employment/discrimination and general liability matters, and estate planning, among others. He was also corporate counsel to several non-profit health, social services and educational institutions.

Following his clerkship with New Jersey State Superior Court Judge Thomas L. Yaccarino (Monmouth County), he became Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey with the Division of Criminal Justice, where he represented the State in criminal and civil actions brought by State agencies involving organized crime, political corruption and drug diversions.

Available for neutral mediation and arbitration, Doug Widman operates from his professional office facility that has six (6) conference rooms and a moot courtroom with the latest video and conference technologies. Doug has experience mediating cases including:

January 2018 – The firm is pleased to announce the addition of Douglas J. Widman, as partner. Doug will be working in the Tax & Estate Planning and Business Litigation departments with a focus on mediation. He currently serves as an Arbitrator and Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediator for the N.J. January 2019 – We are pleased to announce that our partner, Douglas Widman, has been named to the Probate and Estate Administration Committee for the Monmouth Bar Association for a three-year term.

The Monmouth Bar Association exists to uphold the honor of the profession of the law, to encourage cordial association members of the Bar, to coordinate activities of the members of the Bar and to advance the honor, welfare, service and enjoyment of our members.
