A founding partner of the firm, Bob chairs the firm’s Tax and Estate Planning Department, with a focus on Municipal, Land Use, Tax and Business Law and Litigation. He provides advice and services to individuals seeking to plan their estates utilizing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills and health care proxies. Bob utilizes his Master of Laws degree in tax to help clients minimize their potential tax exposure. He aids executors and administrators in administering the estates of decedents as well as compliance with Federal and State death taxes. He often appears in court on behalf of estates and beneficiaries to make sure a decedent’s intentions are fulfilled.
As co-chair of the firm’s Municipal and Land Use Department, Bob has also served various boards and governing bodies in Monmouth, Middlesex, Mercer and Morris counties for more than 30 years. He presently represents Freehold Township and Millstone Township as their Municipal Attorney. He has argued several significant cases in municipal and land use areas of the law on all levels of the New Jersey Court system. He also provides guidance for his corporate and private clients for their land use applications and litigation. Mr. Muñoz provides advice on corporate transactions, tax and succession planning to all types of businesses, including medical practices.
He is a former Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey. He has argued successfully before the courts at every level in the state, including such high profile cases as Manalapan Realty v. Township of Manalapan, 140 N.J. 366 (1995).
For his outstanding work and success helping victims of the 9-11 attack on the World Trade Center, Bob was one of the recipients of the 2004 Public Justice Achievement Award – given jointly by Trial Lawyers Care, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and New Jersey and New York State Trial Lawyers Association. This award is presented in recognition of those “who achieve remarkable victories in cases proving that trial lawyers, working together, can dramatically advance the public good.”
He has served three terms as the chairman of the Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce (2006-2008).
Bob received his B.A. from New York University in 1975, his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1978 and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University in 2000.
